This individual is a fake celebrity, also called an imposter. Most of them are asking you for gift cards or donating to charity. But there are also those impersonators who try to groom you into sending explicit images and videos of yourself or asking you to go on a video call to perform sexual acts; at the end of the day, they will try to blackmail you, telling you, if you do not do this and that, they will publish your content for the world to see. Most of the time, it is just a bluff, "bluff means an attempt to deceive someone into believing that one can or is going to do something."
If you are under 18, we encourage you to tell your parents and go to your nearest local police station if you are in immediate danger.
If the options above will not work out for you, you can always ask us for help; we will do anything to help you and expose the imposter to the fullest possible. Give them no chance to continue their criminal acts; by submitting reports to us, you help potential victims still in the process of being scammed.
Where is the Evidence?
That is a good question. So we will answer this for you.
We have been in this business for a decade and know all kinds of criminal scam tactics. We have caught several scumbags live in the act and taken down thousands of accounts on various social media apps and counting. That being said, we know, without talking to them, that they are impersonating the celebrity they claim to be. If they have the same name as the celebrity and have a profile picture of them or the superstar's name in their username ID or even the same birthday, then there is no doubt that they are pretending to be that famous person.
Some Social Media companies want to see evidence before they take down an account pretending to be someone they are not. Still, in this case, this should be evidence enough, and they should take them down without asking further questions to prevent them from scamming more potential victims.
