My mother got scammed by a microsoft indian scammer
Scam/Fraud Info:
My mother lost access to her email due to a scammer. In pursuit of getting access back to her account, she worked with what she thought was Microsoft. They had her on the phone for 5 hours convincing her they could fix it. They even "looped in" her "bank" to the phone call to make it seem legit. After 5 long hours, they got her to go to the bank, pick up cash, download a BTC app, took a copy of her driver's license, had her take a picture of herself, and directed her to one of BitCoin Depot kiosks. They had her insert $8500 in cash into the kiosk and then gave her their information. I believe a QR code was used. They had her on the phone the whole time and called back if they were disconnected.
Reports are submitted by people globally. If there is enough evidence, it's likely a scam. Celebrity impersonators are always considered scammers, often stealing money and resorting to blackmail if you've shared sensitive photos.
